History ★ Emily Eve, mother, age 39. Griffyn Eve, father, died at the age of 21. Dacian Eve, uncle, 39. ★ all are or were gifted Fiamma members. Emily and Griffyn had known one another for most of their lives, being childhood friends that never seemed to leave the other's side. They were also extremely good at working with fire, and had the stereotypical fiery attitudes. They were wed at the age of eighteen, and almost exactly nine months later little Valkyrie followed. About that time, however, Griffyn was diagnosed with leukemia. Treatment was started quickly, thank goodness, and it seemed he was going to make it. Val's development was normal, and he was cherished by both parents and his father's extended family. His mother was estranged from her family, though it didn't seem to matter, considering she had Fiamma and Griffyn. Well, at least she did have Griffyn. At the age of twenty-one, the loving husband and father surprisingly died - not because of cancer, but a simple infection. Valkyrie was too young to remember anything about his father, but he does know that the man had his flaws. He'd always loved the bottle and the nightlife, but he was loyal and dedicated to his family to the end. In fact, he never smiled in photos (or in person) unless he was with Emily or Valkyrie. And Griffyn was a handsome, tall figure with a lot of talent and heart. Though his son never really got to know him, Griffyn Eve left an impression on Val that would shape his character and apearance. Valkyrie was always a bright young boy, but he was subjected to his father's identical twin, Dacian. Whereas Griffyn had been bright and brave, Dacian hid behind silver-twisted words and was in every way a radical. Though it's generally accepted that he's completely daffy, his ability to use words like an extra limb rubbed off on Valkyrie. It is from his uncle that the boy gets many of his skills and ambitions, though he's far more sane and prefers not to see his uncle anymore. At the age of fourteen, Valkyrie dyed is hair black and began to grow it out, in honor of his father, who had always prided himself on his long coal-colored locks. And he even began to dress like his "old man" had, fitting his old leather jackets perfectly. And also like his father before him, the boy discovered rock n' roll and parties. Every Saturday night, he was there at somebody's house, and every Sunday morning he was dragging himself home with a hangover. By the time he was eighteen, it became legitimately difficult to tell the two apart in photos, except that Griffyn had dark brown eyes in contrast to his son's frosty blue gaze. Valkyrie and his mother then moved into the manor at long last, leaving uncle Dacian to rant and rave on his own god knows where. The kid was a hit with the others, especially those that had known his father and were stunned to see the mirror image standing before them. They saw how Val partied, and remembered the moderately innocent way his father had done the same, and turned a blind eye. They saw his quick temper and even quicker words, and saw the intelligent and wise Griffyn. When the son was in the room, it was his respected father people saw. And he was okay with that. Though he was not entirely like is old man. He had a certain ambition to rise to power and a certain suave character that was much more like Dacian, and he was more charismatic than either. And despite his seemingly inherited impulsiveness, he had yet to settle down, despite the fact he'd made it longer than his father had. Perhaps because he only met one-night stands and simple flings, perhaps because he was more dedicated to his clan than his love life. Whatever the reason, he seemed close only to his mother, and had turned a blind eye to any real relationships... Though it is on his agenda. Like both of his parents - and most of his family going way back, even - he's devoted to his element and to mastering it. If only he could stop partying and trying to be such a rockstar.
