| [atrb=border,0,true] Leave to her to make friends with an Acqua clan member. Allegra, same girl that tries to spend as little time as possible around the water because it makes her uncomfortable, was planning to go out for a coffee or a light dinner with someone who basically was made of water. Life is full of irony, apparently that was going to be hers. The girl who avoided company at all costs, who never told anyone anything about herself, who wouldn’t expose herself to the company of another human being by choice, was asking for company, and from another clan! What had gotten into her, she could not say. She had done her normal routine; work, library, walk… all in solitary and only with the odd polite conversation with the client of the hour. So, she was charming, and a lady, and she could probably melt you with her radiant smile… but she would rather not have to use it, because that would mean she was having human contact. And now… here she was, changing radically the course of the day because she was… well… bored, or crazy. Or maybe, just maybe, it had been way too long since she last actually spoke with anybody for pleasure.
Allegra wasn’t a pleasure seeker, or at least not in the way other people looks for pleasure. Whenever others might be spending time with loved ones having lunch/dinner/parties, she would sit next to her window in her luminous apartment with a book and some tea and read. She had listened to people constantly chatting about meaningless things, like daily tasks and unnecessary gossip. Why would she care if somebody just went to the gym or ate pasta or got very drunk at the latest party? Why was that information useful to her in any way? It wasn’t so she would just simply not listen to it. She needed intelligent conversation, sparkling, refreshing, different… she wanted someone who actually had something worth saying and not the cheap, quick laugh. But now and again Allegra didn’t feel the need to be so serious all the time, and she had to admit that, as a human being, she had some necessities and voids to fill. Today she had gone to the instant messaging looking for some stimulant conversation… and she got Jesse. So, his conversation so far didn’t seem to be what she had been wanting but she happened to find herself attracted to the idea of disconnecting for a while and being normal. He seemed to be charming, to be able to get a few laughs out of her… he seemed to be harmless and friendly enough for her to admit that he was going to be a good company.
Allegra hadn’t expected to find herself actually taking care of her appearance to meet such guy. But today nothing was going to be as expected. In the end, and after much thought, she decided herself for a simple yellow summer dress nicely cut and some white flat shoes. Natural make up and small diamond earrings and she was ready. She was excited, for some unknown reason. It wasn’t like she was actually going to meet someone she hadn’t seen in ages, or someone who will provide her with very deep an intellectual conversation. It was going to be a completely and radically different experience and she found herself looking forward to it with the normal eagerness of a girl her age. For once she seemed to be as light as the air, thinking only of the fun ahead with no other serious thoughts running around her mind to bother her. It was nice to feel this free in the city that usually was her prison. Arriving to the restaurant, probably way earlier than she should, she tried to find a quiet table as far away from curious eyes and earshot as possible and made herself comfortable. Allegra knew how important was to find privacy around this town, being one of the birds that sing the song of the secrets of the living souls of this sad town. A waitress approached her with a warm smile and a notebook. “Boungiorno, signorina. Desidera?” Taking a look at the available drinks, she discovered she was quite thirsty. Excitement had strange effects on her body. She didn’t even have to make the effort to put the dazzling smile in her face, she had it already on since the moment she crossed her door on her way here. “Boungiorno. Una spremuta d’arancia, per favore.” The waitress nodded and left, leaving her studying her eating companions and waiting for her own.

take me back to your bed I love you so much that it hurts my head. Say, I don't mind you under my skin. I'll let the bad parts in, the bad parts in. TAGGED: allegra WORDS: 1,010 His tall figure waved gracefully away from his apartment. He chuckled to himself as he thought about what he got himself into: a luncheon with a Cielo elemental. Honestly, he didn’t really give a damn. If he did he wouldn’t be going out with her this afternoon and treating her to lunch. But he knew if his clan heard about it they wouldn’t be too please. Which is exactly why he bought his own little apartment in town, he visits the manor frequently though. Mostly to train though, he goes at least once a day to practice his water techniques. Not for fighting just because he loved his element so much. If he wasn’t in the training room he was near the Grande Canal. This boy was like a fish; constantly craving the closeness of water. Even before he knew he had such powers he’d always been drawn to water being part of the swim team and joining the rowing team. Anywhere he could be near water. Even a nonparty boy like him would be spotted at a party if it was a pool party, or beach party, or a lake party. Water was his element. Once it was explained to him what an Acqua Elemental was and how he fit into that category everything made sense. Whenever he went to Sea World he did feel in tuned to the aquatic animals. Not that he could talk whale to shamu or anything crazy but he did feel a sort of connection and desire to jump in the tank with the killer whale.
His clan wasn’t in complete rivalry with Cielo clan, unlike the Fiamma Clan, but the still discourage any socializing with other clans. Exactly why he left, he loves the manor and he wished he could stay. But he didn’t like constantly being looked over and given looks for being friendly with other clans and being an American, but not just an American; a country American at that. He was a country boy through and through no matter what. Because of his distinct differences despite his natural friendly attitude some of his clan members gave him hesitant looks. But naturally Acqua elementals stuck together. Their type was to stick together believing that the strongest force is together. Going with the saying ‘a river is more moving than a stream’. Once an Acqua always an Acqua no matter who they talk to in the end they are still water elementals.
Jesse rushed through the packed people with ease. He glanced at the time and it looked like he would be right on time, Good. He thought to himself. He hated keeping people waiting especially girls. His eyes green-ish blue eyes looked over the busy streets. He walked swiftly by the canals a part of him calling out for a quick swim but he merely shook his head at his inner self and continued forward. He came to the restaurant Primavera and smiled as he glanced at his watch. He wore a gray polo and some dark blue jeans. Something pretty casual but it still looked good. His hair was jelled to spike forward and up in the front. He smiled walking in as he was hit instantly with the smell of Italian food. One thing he couldn’t complain about Italy was the food that never failed to smell delicious and tasted just as good to boot. No Italian food like the Italian food in Italy. Although he could say the same about the BBQ, no BBQ that Jesse has had in Italy could even compare to the BBQ in Tennessee. Praise all that is good that Jesse had loved cooking and had learned the tricks of BBQ-ing and he’d like to argue his BBQ was just as good as the stuff at home. BBQ and corn bread with a cup of sweet tea was Jesse’s food of choice.
Thinking about home caused Jesse’s eyes to flicker with nostalgia. He missed it all. But this is his life and has been for the past few years. Yet he still can’t shake his country roots and southern accent. Often people make fun of his country accent. He still also wasn’t too great at Italian. He could hold a conversation. But nothing to grand and mighty which slightly worried him considering the girl he was meeting asked him straight up for an ‘intellectual conversation’. Which was vague of course. What was intellectual to him could be a complete bore to her. On top of that if she chose to use Italian the whole conversation he’d be pretty limited.
He shook it out real fast letting it go reminding himself to relax. It’s just a lunch with a friend. Not like a date. It’s not like he actually has to entertain or impress her. But he wanted to. He was a natural woman pleaser. His natural instinct was to hold doors open for girls, walk on the busy street side, carry a girls bags, all that stuff. His eyes scanned the room landing on the beautiful girl that he was to spend a portion if not more of his afternoon with. He walked over and smiled, “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long.” He slid across from her with a charming smile as he looked at her and commented, “You look beautiful.” He nodded as if to agree with himself. Jesse was a natural flirt. He always wanted to make a girl feel good. In his eyes girls were precious creatures to take care of and to hold and protect. He looked over her curious what was going through her mind as the waitress greeted him and he smiled at her and said with his normal country accent, “Just a sweet tea and a glass half filled with water would be nice.” The waitress nodded and walked off. Jesse always had a glass of water. He enjoyed playing with the water. Most what he does most others don’t notice because it’s mostly causing little waves in. Just one of his little soothing things. NOTES: She likes Jesse quite a lot ^^
| [atrb=border,0,true] The moment the door of the restaurant opened Allegra could feel the breeze coming in. Poor choice of hers to decided to sit inside instead of outside where she would have felt more comfortable, and probably her companion too. She had to admit, she was feeling as if she was doing something very exciting, maybe because this was so not the normal way her life uses to go. Jesse crossed the door and spotted her, immediately granting her with a warm smile. She didn’t need to listen to his accent to know that he wasn’t Italian, all the better because if there was something Allegra was very sick of right at the moment was Italians with their sticky way of flirting. Wormbook as she was, Allegra was very good at languages and she could speak fluent English, it helped her job and opened the possibility of traveling somewhere… someday. She smiled back at him and shook her head. “I didn’t, thank you. I am a bit on the early side.” She giggled like a school girl, for some reason. She tended to be punctual or early, making sure she was there before anybody so she could study a way out before whoever she was meeting arrived. It was a defensive mechanism a bit neurotic, to be honest, but once again, what can you expect of a girl who doesn’t really like to spend time with people?
She couldn’t understand why she had been born so charming when those skills usually went down the drain with her. Her mother had always scowled at her for not being more social and spent her days secluded in her room or the library or a bookstore, whenever she would feel most at ease. She would be proud of her now, watching Allegra mingle with a human being, and a guy at that. Her mother wasn’t really into mingling with other clans though, and sure enough Allegra never felt comfortable around water but from all the elements it was the one she least disliked. Fire was her biggest problem, water she could deal with. “Thank you. You look nice yourself.” She blushed a bit and glance around the room to hide it. Jesse asked for sweet tea and water, of course. Such a different choice from what an Italian would have asked that she smiled with delight. Don’t get her wrong, Allegra was proud of being Italian, she was just… tired of being surrounded by them all the time, stuck in the sad decadence of the city all her life to do the same day after day.
And in all honesty, Venice wasn’t Rome. In here people gossiped, they loved to point their fingers at people, they were so close minded and traditional… If you happened to be single and loved to sleep around Venice wasn’t your city, and if you happened to be a single mother then your family will probably beg you to wear a wedding ring to keep up with the appearances. You couldn’t just simply do whatever the hell you wanted here because every living soul would have a piece of advice for you. Knowing he wasn’t Italian, Allegra jumped immediately to her interrogatory mood, if she couldn’t travel there at least she could hear about other cities and cultures from native people. “I hope you don’t mind it, but I will be asking you questions about Americans and the city you were born the whole afternoon.” She warned him with a bright smile and sparkly eyes. How much she would love to go there! To experience the world outside this damp cage she was living in. “I find myself very interested in another cities and countries and I never happened to come upon an American I could interrogate. I hope you won’t feel uncomfortable?” Some people came here running away from the places they were born, why Allegra couldn’t really understand.
Ironically enough she wanted to run away to other countries because she was sick and tired of her own. One thing she had to admit, though, she would miss Italy and its food. Italians were designed for pleasure, they breathed the word, played with it and around it, enjoyed it… food was part of pleasure. They had the best food, the best opera singers, the best tailors… All in the pursuit of pure bliss and honestly, Allegra loved how Italians enjoyed life so much. She just didn’t feel quite in tune with Venetians, probably, she didn’t know how she would feel in noisy, hot, exciting Rome. “Would you like to order something to eat? I didn’t think it was appropriated to ask for something without you here.” She wouldn’t be the best social bunny, but a lady she was, and a very fine one at that. Her mother would be proud, oh yes, so very proud of her right at that moment. Allegra was making the effort, she was using her charm for pleasure and not obligation and it was coming naturally, not force. It was quite the progress.

take me back to your bed I love you so much that it hurts my head. Say, I don't mind you under my skin. I'll let the bad parts in, the bad parts in. TAGGED: allegra WORDS: 727 Jesse looked over the girl holding back a chuckle threatening to part his lips. He wasn't, mentally, laughing at her exactly. Just what his clan perceived her as to what she really is. Ask any one of his clan members and they’d talk about how cielo members were crazy wind demons who’s hair naturally spikes up from the wind barriers the ‘constantly have around them’ and how they are floating never letting their feet touch the ground. They were crazy people who were eccentric and looked like they were missing a few bolts. They look like their air the ‘worship’, he would be told, and you could hold better conversation with a glass of water. When this girl as the opposite. Her hair was down, for starters, and she was quiet intellectual from what Jesse has discovered. She wasn’t eccentric seeming, more of the bookworm. She was a normal girl. Jesse didn’t understand the whole fear of the other elementals. Either way Jesse was glad he was able to get out with another elemental that wasn’t water elemental. It was refreshing to him. Plus this girl seemed nice and not up to judge him for his country upbringings. From the looks of it she seemed relieved that he wasn’t Italian for whatever reason.
He chuckled at her comment about wanting to know about America. He joked gently as he said, “You want to talk about the promise land? Alright, I’m down.” He smiled at her. He didn’t mine talking about America. He loved it, despite what most people tend to picture America as. It was his home after all. He often wanted to go back but he knew the second he stepped in Tennessee bounds his parents would ship him back to Venice. It hurt how much his parents didn’t want to do with him since the accident. He had tried over the years to call and write to them but no responses. He keeps telling himself to give it up but he can’t seem to bring himself to do so. Call him silly for holding onto something that will never happen. He wants to bring his family to Venice and show them around. It’s become his new home and he wanted his parents involved in his life as much as he wanted to be involved in theirs. Unfortunately they don’t share his ideas. They want him to grow up on his own and make his own mistakes without falling back or involving them. They wanted to resume normal life style and Jesse wasn’t normal. He was a water elemental, as they are but they refuse to acknowledge it, and he lost control once.
Jesse smiled laughed, “Trust me it takes a lot to make me feel uncomfortable. Ask me whatever your heart desires.” He nodded as he watched her. He had come across quite a few Italians who were interested in his Tennessee country boy life style. Most the questions involving stereotypes trying see if they were correct. At those points Jesse would laugh and gently correct them. Like when they would ask if everyone drives trucks and spit into spittoons for sport. Some of the questions Jesse would get are so outrageous that Jesse can only respond with a ‘do you think any real human could do that?’
Taking a glance at the menu in front of him he nodded, “Well quite the lady you are.” He chuckled and continued, “Yea, I haven’t eaten all day. I haven’t really been here before. Any suggestions?” He looked at the menu. The menu was in pure Italian and that’s when he noticed. She spoke very fluent perfect English. It was so natural o him that he barely noticed. His head popped up as he commented, “I just noticed. You speak perfect English. Most people I meet here can speak it but have some difficulties over have an overwhelming accent.” Which was true, except with this girl, he could hear her Italian accent but it wasn’t as prominent. She could pass for living in an English speaking country for at least two years. Two years shows that she’s been around English long enough to get it down but not too long where she’s lost her accent. It was very beautiful to hear. Jesse loved Italy. Despite the reason he was here he loved it. The culture was beautiful. NOTES:sorry it took so long >.<

| [atrb=border,0,true] When Jesse looked like he was going to laugh once he had given her the ‘once over’ Allegra could almost read his thoughts, and could she blame him? No, because most of the Cielo clan people was… well, special. She was special too, in her own way, but at first sight you wouldn’t say she was from Cielo clan, or any other for that matter. She didn’t take as an offense, in fact, Cielo members had their own opinions about how Acqua members should look like, and they were as wrong as the Cielo members’ ones by the looks of it. They spent all their lives fighting each other, not realizing they could be stronger if they were all together like in the old times. Allegra had a fascination for the old times of the elements, the time they were all one and she had sought every single book in the libraries she could get her hands into. Jesse was charming, and quite different to the guys she was used to be around at the mansion. He seemed to have the same opinion as her about the fights of the clan though maybe it was because he hadn’t been a member all his life like Allegra was. And she was a strange one, at that, because she had always been more interested in the theoretical part of her powers instead of the practical one, so they manifested quite… involuntary, depending on her mood.
Jesse seemed amused by Allegra’s curiosity about his upbringing in America. It had nothing to do with those silly stereotypes that people often had, all those questions had been answered by the history books and travel guides she had been reading. It was her way of traveling the world since she never had the chance to do it physically. Once he gave her his approbation to ask whatever she desired, Allegra tried to think of valuable questions that hadn’t been answered before on her books. “I’ve seen a lot of pictures of America, but pictures cannot really give the whole image of what it really is to live there or how the place really looks like.” She smiled at him, trying to phrase her question in a way it wouldn’t sound weird. Because it was a bit weird that she didn’t want to know if all Americans were fat, or country boys were dumb and uncultured, or if the burgers were really that giant. She just wanted to know how it really looked like, if they were that different from Italians, if it was true that they spent more time at their jobs than at home, if the tradition of family was really fading and leaving way to successful careers… “So that’s what I want to know, how it really looks like, the picture, the lifestyle… the people. All by the point of view of an American.”
Americans were so strange for Italian people. “Is it that different from here really?” Allegra had wanted to experience it, but Jesse’s tale will have to do. Allegra glanced back at the menu, trying to decide what to eat, the number one dating rule was never to pick something that could get you dirty or was complicated to eat, so she decided for some melon and ham a salad and some mushrooms with parsley and cheese sauce. She had been eating here for quite a time and she knew the pizzas here were quite nice but another variation of Italian food could be good for him, everybody can get tired of pizza. “I will go personally for the Pinzimonio if you like vegetables with olive oil or the Bistecca alla Fiorentina which is a grilled T-bone steak if you are more into meat.” Allegra smiled at his observation and laughed. Practicing languages was one of the requirements of her job, especially if you need to know the secrets of someone who is not from Italy. She was good with languages, and took full advantage of it. “I learn languages quite quickly, I had the chance to practice with a lot of English and American people.” She shrugged, not giving it much importance, it was natural for her like it was natural for other people to fix computers or draw. “It’s a small talent of mine. What it’s yours?”
